Before recently becoming the Creative Director of Marketing at Taco Bell, I led the Design Department at the digital and social agency, MRY, for the past 6+ years. My role included helping direct and create visual solutions for clients such as Visa, JetBlue, Bud Light, Adobe, and various J&J brands like Neutrogena and Visine. My freelance projects tend to vary between identity work to apparel and illustrations.
With a BFA in Communication Design from Syracuse University, I also have a background in branding, magazine and print design which helps round out my digital and social aesthetic.
Aside from my professional life as a Creative Director, I'm also a visual artist, mainly using alcohol inks and resin to create abstract universes. Please check out my Fine Art page to see if anything strikes your fancy. And be sure to check out my instagram account, @manifest.jess, to see more of my art and my process!
I love making lists (so I can check things off), I'm a stickler for strong brand guidelines and pantones, I love hand-drawn typography and can't help but put things in color order (including all the books on my shelves).
Im proud (and humbled) to say that I'm an award winning designer, always looking to compete in various industry competitions. I most recently competed in NYC's Art Battle Painting competition (see my finished product below) and I ended up taking home the winning ‘Furious Pixel’ trophy at the live, Pixels of Fury design competition hosted by Shutterstock and Chuck Nice.
I have spoken on various panels, including AIGA, a ‘Taco Bell Leadership’ discussion at Connecting Things OC and a 'Women in Design' panel along with women speakers from Instagram, Yahoo and Spotify.
